Heat is the first adversary

At 117°F, commissioning crews work split shifts from 4 AM, and every container’s liquid cooling loop is charged and verified before its cells see their first amp. We stress-tested thermal management at full power during the hottest week on the calendar — deliberately.

Grid synchronization is choreography

The interconnection agreement specified voltage ride-through, frequency response, and reactive power behavior down to the decimal. Each of the eighty containers was energized, synchronized, and exercised individually before cluster-level testing began, with the transmission operator witnessing key holds.

Capacity testing settles the contract

The bankable moment is the capacity test: a full discharge at rated power, metered at the point of interconnection, with degradation baselines logged for the twenty-year warranty. Sonoran Ridge cleared its test at 100.9% of nameplate — margin the augmentation plan will spend gracefully over two decades.

Three weeks ahead of schedule, the site entered commercial operation. The real product wasn’t the megawatt-hours; it was the paper trail proving they’ll show up every evening for twenty years.
